This story of the Wife of Bath examines the theme of female dominance. This is good viewpoint because in recent readings, women have fought for recognition, power, and respect that is not given to them. In this reading, it shows a woman who is very confident in her beliefs and overall being. I really think that Chaucer is trying to have the women in his writing to have more power and respect in reality.
