Eliza Haywood was a rival to Aphra Behn and was during the 1720's. She uses the idea of amatory fiction which involves love relationships and the aftermath of relationships. Haywood went through a struggle in life and was not an aristocrat. Alexander Pope destroys Haywood for having "corrupted morals". Her writing is so diverse and is evident in Fantomina. It shows hidden meanings in the allegorys shown within the writing.
