Lady Mary Wroth was a very influential writer of her time being the first women to write a complete sonnet sequence. Really influenced by the women of her family as they published works that were seen as a possible violation of the code for women at the time. It gave her confidence in exploring her image as a writer.
In part 4 of Pamphilia to Amphilantus, Wroth is writing about how Pembroke was always around her even after her marriage and that she had a wandering eye. It would be greedy to her in a way that she still loved her husband but she was trying to find more pleasure in Pembroke. Even after she became a widow, she lived a t the Pembroke Estate. It overtook her in a way that she did not look back to the Sidney family.
